Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

Required Qualifications

A Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field is required at the time of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates in one of the following areas:

Design and Manufacturing, with the emphasis on robotics, mechatronics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence applications at the convergence of medicine with engineering.

Solid Mechanics, with emphasis on multi-scale and multi-functional modeling, data-driven approaches to materials synthesis and characterization, and/or advanced experimentation.

Responsibilities & Requirements

A Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field is required at the time of employment. While the position is anticipated at the Assistant Professor level, exceptional candidates may be considered at the Associate or Full Professor level as well. The successful candidate must have the potential to establish an externally funded research program and a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. Candidates for the rank of Associate or Full Professor should have distinguished records of research and educational activities including a strong and diverse funding history.

Special Notes

This is a tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: Fall 2019.
